O’Connell worked for Camfil for more than three decades, serving as president and CEO for 12 years. He stepped down in late 2013 to serve in a senior advisory capacity (see Filtration Industry Analyst, August 2014).
Under O’Connell’s leadership, Camfil grew to 3700 employees worldwide and expanded into the North American HVAC and dust collection markets. Today the air filtration company has 50 subsidiaries on four continents.
O’Connell replaces Lee Morgan, who has resigned to become president of El Dorado, Arkansas-based The Systems Group.
