PolyCera has announced that, after rigorous testing, its Hydro flat sheet membrane has been approved by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) for use in food processing applications.
The company designs and manufactures membrane technology for the global water, wastewater and process separation markets. The applications covered by the FDA approval include dairy processing, fat and caseins removal, and whey concentration.
In addition, PolyCera membranes have been certified to NSF/ANSI 61, which covers all products with drinking water contact from source to tap. Forty-eight US states have legislation, regulations or policies requiring drinking water system components to comply with, or be certified to, NSF/ANSI 61. In addition, 11 Canadian provinces/territories require drinking water system components to comply with the requirements of NSF/ANSI 61.
Made with organic metals, PolyCera membranes are currently used in more than 100 installations around the world. The company’s portfolio includes PolyCera Hydro membranes, which are available as ultrafiltration membranes, and PolyCera Titan ultrafiltration and nanofiltration membranes, designed for difficult-to-treat water and wastewater.
PolyCera membranes are manufactured using conventional production techniques and can be delivered in all standard form factors for conventional cross-flow systems.
