Toray Industries Inc is to supply reverse osmosis (RO) membranes for Saudi Arabia’s Rabigh 3 desalination plant.
The 600 000 m3/day desalination plant will be the largest SWRO plant in Saudi Arabia and one of the largest in the world.
Toray Membrane Middle East LLC (TMME), Toray’s local subsidiary in Dammam, will provide the RO membranes and technical services. TMME will supply locally manufactured product, provide commissioning support and autopsy service to help resolve water shortages in the Middle East, which Toray says will also ultimately contribute to stable energy supplies.
