WesTech Engineering to acquire Microfloc and General Filter

The acquisition includes all active projects, associated assets and liabilities, inventory and associated patents and trademarks, as well as the facility in Ames, Iowa, USA.

“The Microfloc and General Filter product lines are solid businesses with excellent employees, a rich history, and strong brand recognition,” said Dr Lukas Loeffler, CEO Water Technologies, Siemens Industry Automation Division. “But these products are not a fit with our focus on portfolio differentiation, which is a key driver of our business overall.”

“This is an important strategic acquisition for WesTech,” said WesTech Engineering president Rex Plaizier. “They have extensive installations throughout the United States, a strong reputation, and their product lines complement WesTech’s own in a way that provides the water industry the most comprehensive solution to its water treatment needs.”

Employee-owned WesTech Engineering specialises in the design and manufacture of process equipment for municipal water and wastewater treatment as well as industrial and minerals processing. The Salt Lake City-headquartered company employs more than 500 people throughout the US, Brazil, China, India and South Africa.
