Micronics acquires Solaft Filtration Solutions

The Micronics Engineered Filtration Group has acquired Solaft Filtration Solutions from Enviro Technologies Pty Ltd.

Headquartered in Gordon, New South Wales, Solaft is a global provider of liquid, gas and pneumatic filtration products for industrial applications. The company has in-house product design, textile laboratories, analytical services, and R&D facilities, with manufacturing operations in Australia, Brazil, China and India.

The acquisition of Solaft expands Micronics’ portfolio of engineered filtration solutions and its geographic footprint for industries such as aluminum, alumina, mining, power generation and steel.

In addition to StarBags for addressing operating constraints in underperforming baghouses, Solaft has strong intellectual property (IP) and new product development including a growing pipeline of liquid filtration, dry filtration, and pneumatic conveying products and brands such as Kelly Filters, PrimaPress, PrimaDisc, PrimaFlow, PrimaTherm, DuraSlide and PTronik smart dust and air controllers for remote monitoring.

Cummins will lead the newly combined company going forward. Justin Gallagher will serve as a board advisor for business strategy and continued M&A support.

With the addition of Solaft to the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group, the company now has seven manufacturing operations, two service/depot centers and one engineering office facility in North America; one manufacturing & engineering center in the UK; two manufacturing & engineering centers in India; one manufacturing and R&D center in Australia; two manufacturing operations and one R&D laboratory center in China; and one manufacturing operation and test laboratory center in Brazil.

The Micronics Engineered Filtration Group brand names now include Micronics, Solaft Filtration Solutions, Advanced Filtration Technologies (AFT), National Filter Media (NFM), FilterFab, Southern Filter Media (SFM), CP Environmental (CPE), United Process Control (UPC), AeroPulse, Midwesco Filter Resources and Fabricated Filters.

Micronics has been a portfolio company of Vance Street Capital, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, since 2013.
