The exhibition is Taiwan’s foremost B2B water tradeshow, displaying solutions and applications for water transportation, storage, reclamation, purification, management, recycling, engineering and infrastructure.
According to the Climate Change 2023 report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), global temperatures are expected to rise 1.5°C in the next decade, exacerbating the occurrence of global heat waves, storms and droughts. Taiwan has not seen a typhoon make landfall on the island since August 2019, leading to water shortage issues in the southern region, which relies on April showers, plum rain – the rain in the fourth and fifth lunar month – and post-typhoon rain for clean water.
Since extreme climate conditions and unpredictable rainfall have become a “new normal”, locating new water sources and reducing water consumption have become urgent priorities. The government of Taiwan plans to implement the amendment of the “Reclaimed Water Resources Development Act” in July 2023, and complete 11 water reclamation plants by 2031. This initiative is expected to increase daily water supply by 289,000 tons and drive business opportunities in various energy-saving and environmental protection projects, as well as water reclamation and purification equipment, technology, and solutions throughout Taiwan.
In compliance with government policies and industry trends, TIWW 2023 features six exhibit areas: Reclaimed Water & Treatment; Transport & Storage; Smart Water Technology; Water Purification Equipment & Drinking Water; Process Control Technology & Automation; and Water Environment & Other Services. These areas will showcase the complete water ecosystem for visitors from around the world. Additionally, there will be various highlighted events during the exhibition such as international forums, seminars, new product launches and business meetings.
TIWW 2023 has attracted government authorities, research institutes and industry associations such as the Water Resources Agency, Public Works Department of Taipei, Department of Water Resources of Taoyuan, Industrial Technology Research Institute, Functional Water Association of Taiwan, Taiwan Environmental Manufacturers Association and Taiwan Fine Bubble Industries Association, as well as domestic heavyweights such as Sunny King Machinery, Gung Dai Technology and LCY Group. Prominent foreign suppliers such as Fluence from the United States, Johnson Screens from Australia, Veolia from France, and AVK Valves from Denmark have also participated in the show, bringing new products and technologies.
