The Symbios Tubular Plasma Reactor (TPR4000) provides improved, lower-cost oxidation methods for ultrapure, process, and wastewater applications by simultaneously eliminating organic and microbial contamination without the need for added chemicals or producing a waste stream.

The design of the TPR4000 combines a continuous mixing mechanism with an air-enhanced plasma discharge system. It is the only technology that combines the action and chemistry of UV, ozone, peroxide, and chlorine-based technologies all in one system providing greater efficacy and lower cost.

The company says that this patent award is part of an ever expanding portfolio of patent submissions highlighting its ability to address the needs of its industrial partners, with technology made possible by research funded by the National Science Foundaion (NSF) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program.

Symbios’ dynamic plasma activation technology is now protected for use in manufacturing, healthcare, utility, and oil and gas markets.
