The pilot unit will be installed at Taarnby Forsyning in Denmark and delivered in April 2015.
LiqTech has spent the past 5-6 months developing the system which eliminates some of the common problems treating ground water. The compact system (approx.10ft x 5ft x 4ft) can be placed on the ground in connection with the well itself. This eliminates the need for a separate building housing the sand filters normally used in this application.
Sune Mathiesen, LiqTech CEO, said: “This system is what our unique membrane technology is all about. It solves problems with iron, microorganisms, arsenic and bacteria in ground water, and due to its small footprint, it also allows us to build an in-well situated system saving construction costs.”
LiqTech says that after evaluation Grundfos plans to market the system together with their high-end ground water pumps.
