Black & Veatch organised and hosted the discussions during six industry conferences from October 2009 to June 2010. The discussions brought together around 75 water industry leaders from 13 countries in various regions to discuss common themes and specific regional differences in reuse practices.
As a result of the discussions, the delegates made several recommendations covering ways to help the water industry overcome identified barriers, which have been put together in a white paper, released in September 2010, by Dan McCarthy, president and chief executive officer of Black & Veatch’s global water business.
A second series of talks, focused on economic pressures facing the water industry, is currently underway. Round table discussions centered on this issue have already been held at two industry conferences and an additional four sessions are scheduled for 2011.
