Cummins picks architectural firms for distribution HQ design competition

The winning architect will be announced in September and the selection will be based on a number of factors including their ability to align with Cummins’ values, deliver on the vision of the building, and assemble a diverse team.

The company’s plans for the site include an office building with ground floor retail, a flexible learning centre, public green space and a parking garage.

Cummins expects to break ground on the new Indianapolis office in early 2015 and to open in late 2016.

“We are thrilled to extend Cummins’ architectural legacy to Indianapolis,” said Marya Rose, Cummins’ chief administrative officer. “Cummins will create a space that inspires employees, customers, community residents and visitors. It is critical that the firms embrace this vision and share in our values and mission, including our commitment to ensuring that everything we do leads to a cleaner, healthier and safer environment.”

Cummins’ global corporate headquarters will remain in Columbus, Ohio, where the company was founded 95 years ago.
