The Eppendorf 5424 R is a refrigerated 24-place microcentrifuge which has a very compact size, low access height and near-silent operation. It features four different rotors, including a Kit rotor to avoid tearing of spin columns with open tube lids, and users can choose between rotary control knobs or a keypad. It also has a ‘FastTemp’ function, whereby the centrifuge can be pre-cooled from 21ºC to 4ºC in only eight minutes. The 5424 Roffers a temperature range of –10ºC to +40ºC and maximum speed of 21,130× g (15,000 rpm), making it suitable for applications including DNA/RNA handling and pelleting of cells, membranes and particles (such as beads). It has recently been improved to meet latest emission and ecological requirements.
