Oil producer places follow up order for Simark’s VFD systems

Canada’s Simark Controls Ltd has received a C$1.2 million follow up order for its proprietary variable frequency drive systems (VFDs) from an existing customer in the Alberta oil sands.

VFD systems operate electric submersible pumps (ESPs) used to artificially lift heavy oil from well-pads.

“This major follow up order clearly illustrates the high performance and operational excellence of our VFD solutions,” said Martin Curtis, president and general manager of Simark Controls. “They bring speed, reliability, precision and major cost savings to oil and gas production.”

Simark Controls is a subsidiary of SFC Energy AG, a provider of hybrid power solutions to the stationary and mobile power generation markets.
