IKS system now monitors airborne particles

The Calypso particle data transmitter from IKS, which forms part of the system, can now support up to ten particle counters for continuous, automatic particle counting in clean rooms, IVF laboratories, pharmaceutical production facilities and anywhere that airborne particulates are a potential problem.

IKS’s particle counters can monitor particles down to 0.3µm in diameter. Particles of 0.5µm and 5µm are counted simultaneously, accumulating counts over a minute as ambient air flows through the counter at a rate of 28.3 litres (1 ft3) per minute. The accumulated particle count is transmitted digitally to XiltriX for logging and reporting. The system also continuously monitors the airflow through the counter and its operational status, providing traceable, real-time data.

The XiltriX system can also monitor parameters such as temperature, pressure, incubator status, and door opening in biotechnical facilities.
