Croft Filters offers a brief history of soldering

Soldering is a technique used today by metal workers to bond two components together and the company reminds us that it is not just the electronics sector that makes use of soldering. At Croft, the method is used in many of the company’s different manufacturing procedures for its filters.

Soldering on: A Timeless Technique takes us on a journey which begins in 7000 BC and describes how early humans  first made use of soldering using blowpipe-fanned fires to create low temperatures and join gold and silver together.

The potted history then moves through how the Ancient Egyptians and the Romans used soldering, its use in the 17th century and onwards to its adaptation following the development of electricity. Finally, we learn how advanced soldering processes are used today and how they enhance the look of the filters that Croft produces.
