Around 50 Ahlstrom IT employees globally will move to Tech Mahindra, a specialist in digital transformation, consulting and business re-engineering, under a business transfer agreement.
The transfer is expected to take place on 1 December 2014, with the transferring employees initially continuing to work from their current locations in their present roles and tasks.
Kristiina Lammila, Ahlstrom vice president, Information Solutions, said: “This partnership marks a new phase in the management of our IT services. The arrangement will allow us to build a renewed and more harmonized IT portfolio at a lower cost. In addition, it provides interesting career and professional development opportunities for the people being retained at Ahlstrom and for those being transferred to our partner.”
Ahlstrom will retain an IT organization of about 15 employees.
The planned reorganization is part of an ongoing rightsizing program aimed at saving E39 million annually in continuing operations by the end of 2015.
