The Porvair Filtration Group has launched five new Microcap capsule filters in sizes suitable for small to medium industrial applications in the water and chemical process industries and for pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Microcap PES capsules are hydrophilic, double-layered polyethersulfone membrane filters, for sterile filtration in pharmaceutical applications. These include sterilising filtration of USP Water for Injection (WFI), diagnostic solutions, vaccines and ophthalmics.

Microcap PPP capsules are made with polypropylene microfibre media and remove large amounts of particulate and other contaminants. They are used for the pre-filtration of bulk pharmaceutical chemicals, water and other liquids.

Microcap GPP capsules are made with polypropylene microfibre media and can remove large amounts of particulate and other contaminants over a long filter life. They are used for the removal of particulate contaminants from water, inks, dyes and speciality chemicals.

Microcap PFE capsules are manufactured for the pharmaceutical industry. Made with highly hydrophobic polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) membrane, they are used for the filtration of non-aqueous liquids, aggressive solvents and compressed gases.

Microcap PNY capsules are for sterilising grade filtration and the nylon membrane is optimised for retention. Nylon capsules are used in sterile fill applications in SVPs.
