In this newly created position, Leung will lead Xylem’s commercial operations across emerging markets, including China, Greater Asia, India, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, as well as Australia and New Zealand.
Leung, 58, joins Xylem from Pentair, where he most recently served as vice president, Global Sales for Pentair’s Valves and Controls business. He has also held senior executive roles at Tyco International, including vice president and general manager of Global Process Industry Vertical and president of its Flow Control business in Asia.
Leung, who will be based in Shanghai, China, will report directly to Xylem president and CEO Patrick Decker. He will also serve as a member of Xylem’s senior leadership team.
“The emerging markets encompass some of the fastest-growing areas of our business, and Steve is well-positioned to help us maximize that growth,” said Decker. “He joins Xylem with a strong operating and leadership background that includes more than two decades of global management and commercial experience. Steve also brings a deep knowledge and understanding of the emerging markets, which are a strategic priority in Xylem’s growth plan.”
Leung studied management and electronic engineering at Hong Kong Polytechnic, and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Oklahoma City University.
