The winner has been announced of the FILTREX Innovation Award, which recognises the work of nonwoven-based filtration producers and acknowledges their innovation and research and development.

The award was won by Math2Market for its GeoDict software. Votes were submitted confidentially by industry professionals attending FILTREX 2019, the nonwovens filter media conference, which took place in Frankfurt. Each nominee presented a 10-minute showcase of their innovation and Math2Market was announced as the winner with more than 50% of the votes.

Math2Market won the award for its FiberFind-AI module of Geodict software. This material simulator claimed to be the most complete solution for multi-scale 3D image processing and material modelling. FiberFind uses modelled nonwoven microstructures to train a neural network to label binder with artificial 3-D scans. After training, the neural network also recognises the binder in 3-D scans of real nonwovens.

Dr.-Ing.Mehdi Azimian, who received the award, said: “On behalf of Math2Market, it is a great honour to win the FILTREX Innovation Award 2019."
