The American Filtration and Separations Society (AFS), organiser of the 13th World Filtration Congress (WFC13), has announced that Dr John McClean, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Evoqua Water Technologies will deliver a keynote presentation at WFC13 entitled Developments in Advanced Filtration Technologies for Clean Water.

The presentation will take place on 22 April at 10.10 am, part of WFC13, which runs from 20-24 April 2020 in San Diego, California. The conference, which is held once every four years, aimsto foster a forum for scientists, engineers and practitioners around the world working on filtration and separation to meet and share the latest advances and technologies.

Dr McClean will discuss how the use of filters in water treatment has advanced dramatically since the use of early slow sand filters. Three of the most important areas of change have been membranes, wastewater recycling and sea water desalination. He will discuss current filtration trends and challenges facing the water technology world, briefly discuss early filtration methods and how the industry evolved to the dynamic technologies of today.
