1. DuPont launches nanofiltration membrane elements for lithium-brine purification

DuPont has commercially launched the new DuPont FilmTec LiNE-XD nanofiltration membrane elements for lithium brine purification.

The FilmTec LiNE-XD and LiNE-XD HP are DuPont’s first product offerings dedicated to lithium brine purification. FilmTec LiNE-XD’s nanofiltration membrane elements feature advanced membrane chemistry to support direct lithium extraction (DLE) operations, which enable lithium production from more sustainable and accessible sources.

2. Parker Hannifin starts operating new membrane test rig for fuel cells

Parker Hannifin’s Filtration business has reached a major milestone towards mass producing hollow fibre membrane technology for fuel cell humidification applications.

The company has completed a specialized test rig that will validate products by Parker OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customers. With this new technology, Parker will be able to test membrane technology in more advanced ways and develop robust system solutions for fuel cells. The test rig was produced in partnership with the Fraunhofer Institute for Microengineering and Microsystems (IMM), a Germany-based non-profit for scientific research.

3. Samsung launches new washing machine filter to protect oceans from microplastics

Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has launched the Less Microfiber Filter, an external washing machine filter designed to significantly reduce plastic microfiber emissions during laundry cycles.

4. Celeros Flow Technology to sell its Filtration business to private equity firm

Celeros Flow Technology has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Filtration business unit to the UK-headquartered private equity firm Px3 Partners.

5. Mann+Hummel to acquire majority share in China’s U-Air

With rising demand for cleaner air solutions in China, Mann+Hummel is acquiring a majority stake in the Chinese air filtration products manufacturer Suzhou U-Air Environmental Technology, part of Zisun Technology Co Ltd.

6. Samsung researchers develop long-life air purification filter

Researchers at the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) have developed a new air filter technology that simultaneously collects particulate matter (PM) and decomposes volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and that can be used for 20 years through simple water washing.

 

7. Sun Capital Partners to acquire Koch Separation Solutions

An affiliate of private investment firm Sun Capital Partners has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Koch Separation Solutions (KSS) from Koch Engineered Solutions LLC, a subsidiary of Koch Industries Inc.

 

8. 3M invests US$146mn in biopharma filtration

3M is investing US$146 million to expand its capabilities in biopharma filtration technology.

The investment will include facility and equipment improvements and the addition of 60 full-time positions in 3M manufacturing facilities in Europe.

 

9. DuPont launches next generation of PES in-out UF membranes

DuPont has launched the next generation of multi-capillary PES in-out ultrafiltration (UF) membranes — DuPont Multibore PRO.

 

10. APV membrane filtration technology offers improved plant-based concentration

SPX Flow Inc is introducing new technology for plant-based concentration filtration to provide clean label products of higher nutritional value.
