Modec Offshore Production Systems has awarded a multi-million dollar contract to Suez Water Technologies & Solutions to supply a seawater injection system including sulphate removal technology (SRU).
The equipment will be used onboard a converted floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel that Modec is constructing for Woodside Energy (as operator of the Rufisque Offshore, Sangomar Offshore and Sangomar Deep Offshore joint venture) for the Sangomar oilfield located approximately 100km south of Dakar, Senegal.
The contract covers the design and supply of the complete seawater treatment plant with a 23 000 m3/day capacity, including coarse filtration, ultrafiltration (UF), nanofiltration (NF) and vacuum deoxygenation equipment. The award also includes project management, procurement, construction supervision, and delivery to Modec’s integration yard.
“This award marks the third SRU contract awarded by Modec to Suez and is a sign of our growing and important relationship with the company,” said Kevin Cassidy, executive vice president, engineered systems for Suez Water Technologies & Solutions. “Suez is unique in the offshore oil industry because of our ability to manufacture membranes while also designing and building the process plants that use them. This contract is further validation that our technology drives value and optimises performance for FPSO operators.”
