Mann+Hummel introduces diesel fuel filter

The new MANN-FILTER diesel fuel filter for commercial vehicles protects diesel injection systems against water and dirt particles, using three-stage water separation, which separates over 90% of the water in the fuel.

Tiny dirt particles and water drops can damage the components of the fuel circuit. After several fuel cycles, drop sizes smaller than one tenth of the diameter of a human hair are possible. Mann+Hummel’s filter removes these tiny, finely distributed water droplets from the diesel fuel.

Fuel flows through the MANN-FILTER PU 12 004 z diesel fuel filter from the outside to the inside in three stages. In the first stage, the filter medium removes solid dirt particles from the diesel fuel. The second stage uses a coalescer fleece, retaining even the finest water droplets from the fuel/water emulsion and combines them to form much larger drops.

In the third stage, a hydrophobic sieve stops the enlarged drops from entering the injection system. Gravity moves the separated water to a water collection chamber in the filter module. A sensor signals when the water needs to be manually drained or siphoned.
