Elsner Engineering Works Inc has bought the design and IP rights to SCM Slitter Inc’s element trim saw.
The machine is designed to trim the ends of industrial liquid filtration elements, such as spiral wound reverse osmosis filters.
Elsner says that the acquisition is a logical ‘next step’. The Hanover, Pennsylvania-headquartered company has been building automated folding, gluing and rolling machinery for the filtration industry for nearly 20 years. Now Elsner is looking to play a bigger role in the filtration industry as part of its continued growth and strategic planning.
“When we are designing and building our equipment, we are always thinking ‘what is next?’ and ‘how can we be a better partner to our customers?’” said Jay Roth, Elsner’s director of sales. “We know that working out a deal with SCM was the right thing to do for our customers. We knew they had already built a proven machine, so acquiring that technology was our best path.”
Elsner will take full control of the element trim saw and offer support to all existing SCM trim saw machinery.
Founded in 1934, Elsner is celebrating 85 years of family-owned, continuous operation this year.
