Water and wastewater treatment company De.mem Ltd has secured new contracts in Australia worth approximately A$200 000 through its recently acquired subsidiary Akwa-Worx Pty Ltd.
The contracts include the delivery of a containerized sludge dewatering system to Bechtel Australia Pty Ltd. The system aims to reduce sludge volumes and, as a result, disposal cost. It will be deployed at Rio Tinto’s Amrun project between Weipa and Amrukun, Queensland.
The projects also include the delivery of reverse osmosis membranes for deployment in a water treatment plant at the same mining site.
Rio Tinto’s Amrun project is a A$2.6 billion bauxite project currently underway in Queensland’s Cape York Peninsula. Bechtel is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPCM) manager for the project.
