Aquarion Group’s H+E MFT supplies water treatment plant in Saudi Arabia

Aquarion Group’s H+E MFT has been awarded a project to design, construct, install, test and commission a water treatment plant in Saudi Arabia.

The plant, which will supply approximately 50 000 m3/day of drinking water to a customer in the utilities sector, consists of six production lines and a total of 42 modularised containers housing the water treatment system with integrated Zero Liquid Discharge.

The project consists of four treatment stages using flocculation tanks, followed by lamella clarifiers, dead-end ultrafiltration and activated carbon (AC) filtration. Zero Liquid Discharge has been integrated into the whole system using H+E MFT’s latest decanter technology and evaporation ponds.

Cologne, Germany-based H+E MFT has already successfully completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for the first of the two production lines, which have now been shipped to Saudi Arabia. The project is expected to be commissioned in early 2019.

“This project leverages the efficacy of H+E MFT’s membrane technology and the company’s expertise in providing cost effective, highly efficient containerized solutions for customers across an array of industries,” said Andreas Flach, technical director of H+E MFT.
