The water treatment plant will filter water from the Kave River, the city's main water supply, providing 50,000 inhabitants, as well as the residents of 15 surrounding villages, with potable water for household needs as well as for agricultural and industrial use.
Amiad Filtration System's Automatic self cleaning filter fine-micron screens are featured in the water treatment facility. When operating at full capacity, the facility will have a flow rate of 900 m/3 per hour. The project was ordered by the LR Group, an Israeli company which is planning the construction of nine additional projects in the region.
Arik Dayan, CEO of Amiad Filtration Systems said: “We are proud that our system was chosen for this special project and we are honored to provide citizens of Waku Kungo with clean, filtered water for the first time. We look forward to working with the LR Group in implementing additional filtration projects in Angola and villages across Africa.”
