Automotive filtration specialist, the A.L. Group, has introduced a new antiviral, hypoallergenic and antibacterial technology which eliminates 99% of airborne viruses, including Covid-19.

The Active Shield filter is for indoor air purifiers, in cabin air filters in transportation or in industrial filtration settings such as clean rooms or AC systems. In cabin air filters it purifies the vehicle cabin within 15 minutes of AC standard operating time and maintains its antivirus properties throughout the filter life.

The technology was developed with one of Israel’s leading universities and was first used to impregnate fabrics such as patient linens and doctors’ scrubs with copper-oxide to make them virus and bacteria repellent.

The A.L. Group adjusted this technology so that it could impregnate filtration media with copper-oxide. Tests show over 99% efficiency against viruses and more than 3 logs reduction of bacteria growth. The company also tested its filters against Covid-19, and they were more than 99% effective.

Tests have proved that the active material remains effective even after exposure to severe conditions such as high temperature and flow.
