Dr Levi joins Ahlstrom from materials company Styron where he was senior vice president and business president of Emulsion Polymers. He previously held a number of senior management positions at the Dow Chemical Co.
Lång, who has led Ahlstrom since 2009, will continue as president and CEO of the company until 15 June 2014. After that, Lång will support Dr Levi, as needed, as a special advisor in order to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities.
During Lång’s leadership, Ahlstrom has gone through a significant transition and the business portfolio has been restructured.
“The time is now right to pass the leadership baton for the next phase of the strategic plan. I want to thank Jan Lång warmly for leading Ahlstrom through this challenging phase of transformation,” said Ahlstrom chairman Pertti Korhonen.
