The three business areas will have stronger operational alignment, including responsibility for sales and marketing, technical customer service, product development and operations.
The new structure is designed to enable faster execution and stronger accountability within the three business areas and to accelerate profitability improvement.
“The changes in operational and management structure will help to clarify the priorities for each business. I believe that we can facilitate faster execution and optimise our resources by strengthening accountability in the business areas close to our customers and markets,” said Marco Levi, Ahlstrom president and CEO.
There will also be a number of changes to Ahlstrom’s executive management team with immediate effect, including Jari Koikkalainen’s appointment as executive vice president, Filtration, responsible for the transportation filtration and advanced filtration businesses.
Meanwhile Paul Stenson has been named executive vice president, Filtration Product Development, reporting to Koikkalainen. Stenson will also maintain responsibility for aligning product and technology development capabilities as well as portfolio development between the three business areas.
