As the water industry continues to evolve and face new challenges, the importance of Aquatech Amsterdam, with its international reach, only grows. The next edition has been moved from its traditional November date to 11–14 March 2025, featuring more pavilions, more halls, and more exhibitors.
In 2023, 37% of visitors reported that they don't attend any other trade fair, indicating that Aquatech Amsterdam has positioned itself as the essential event for water professionals. The high satisfaction rate – 91% of visitors recommend attending – attests to the event's value and impact.
In these times when water issues are making global headlines daily, it's more crucial than ever to exchange thoughts, experiences, and knowledge at all levels, as well as to discover innovations and find partners to develop products and technologies. Looking ahead to the 2025 edition, let's review why Aquatech Amsterdam is a must-attend event for water professionals worldwide.
A global hub for water innovation
Since 1968, Aquatech Amsterdam has been the global platform for solutions and technologies for a sustainable water future. The 2023 edition underscored this by attracting over 24,000 water professionals from 139 countries to RAI Amsterdam. With a final visitor count of 19,233 (including over 7,500 from the Netherlands) plus 4,000+ stand personnel, a diverse cross-section of the water industry was represented.
The event's international appeal is undeniable, with 68% of exhibitors coming from outside the Netherlands. For attendees, it's truly a unique and accessible opportunity to meet the entire water world in one location.
Excellence and diversity of exhibitors
Perhaps Aquatech Amsterdam's greatest strength is its exhibitors. The 2023 exhibition featured 837 exhibitors from 43 countries, showcasing the latest developments in water technology across various segments. From water treatment and wastewater management to process control, automation, and water management, the exhibition floor provides a comprehensive overview of innovative solutions. The 2025 edition promises to have even more exhibitors.
The presence of country pavilions from China, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, South Korea, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, and the UK further reinforced the event's global character. These pavilions offered focused insights into regional innovations and expertise, as well as local challenges.
High-quality networking and decision-making authority
What sets Aquatech Amsterdam apart is not just the quantity of visitors, but also their quality and influence within the industry. The exhibition attracts executives from water companies, industrial end-users, engineering firms, consultancies, and government agencies. 51% of visitors identified themselves as decision-makers, while 37% serve as advisors in their respective organisations.
This concentration of industry leaders and decision-makers creates an environment ripe for meaningful connections and business opportunities. It's no wonder that 95% of exhibitors recommend participating in the event, with 89% planning to return for the 2025 edition and 80% signing up immediately in 2023. All the more reason to significantly expand the exhibition floor in 2025.
Innovation at the forefront
Aquatech Amsterdam is more than just a trade fair; it's a celebration of innovation in the water sector. New this year is the InnovationHUB, a hall where the Innovation Award nominees in the InnovationLAB, the Innovation Forum, and the EU Innovation Projects come together. All to spotlight the urgently desired, groundbreaking technologies and ideas:
• Aquatech Innovation Award: Recognition of promising new technologies and solutions in the water industry.
• InnovationLAB: A dedicated space for advanced products and services, offering a glimpse into the future of water technology.
• Aquatech Innovation Forum and the now-infamous F**k Up Night: The source of inspiration for like-minded and differently-minded individuals breaks all conference rules again in 2025. Intensive interaction, meeting, and challenging led to chance encounters and high-level discussions about trends, challenges, and solutions in the water sector.
Specialised pavilions and worlds
To help visitors navigate the vast array of technologies and solutions on display, Aquatech Amsterdam organises the exhibition into specialised "worlds" and pavilions:
• Wastewater & Resources World
