Veolia wins second biofilm reactor contract with Yorkshire Water

Veolia Water Technologies UK is to supply its AnoxKaldnes moving bed biofilm reactor (MBBR) technology for tertiary ammonia removal at Yorkshire Water’s Clayton West Wastewater Treatment Works (WwTW), as part of an upgrade carried out by Morgan Sindall Sweco Joint Venture.

The bespoke MBBR design will meet a 3 mg/l ammonia performance requirement.

This latest award follows the successful installation and performance of a Veolia reactor at Cudworth WwTW four years ago.

Veolia’s MBBR technology provides tertiary ammonia removal in a range of wastewater treatment applications.
