The plant is based on membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology. When completed in June 2010, it will be the largest MBR plant in China. The Memstar membrane products are scheduled to be delivered by April 2010.

Memstar’s PVDF hollow fibre membrane products are specially designed for water and wastewater treatment applications.

Commenting on the project, Dr Ge, CEO of Memstar said: “We are delighted to be selected by the Guangzhou Municipal Government for this very important and high profile project. This is an endorsement of the quality and performance of our membrane products. Our membrane technology has led to our success in breaking into new markets and securing larger projects. MBR technology is rapidly gaining acceptance in China’s municipal wastewater treatment market as a result of more stringent discharge standards and greater needs for water recycling. With this growing trend, Memstar is well positioned to take advantage of the opportunities in this market segment.”
