Envirogen wins 3 new biofiltration projects for municipal odour control

27 May 2010

Envirogen Technologies Inc has secured new contracts for odour control systems based on its biofiltration technology at municipal wastewater facilities in Portsmouth, Ohio; Oak Island, North Carolina; and Crested Butte, Colorado.

All three projects will use Envirogen’s H-series modular packaged biofilters in various configurations to provide a minimum 99% removal of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) from inlet air.

According to David Enegess, vice president of Envirogen Products and Envirogen’s East Region, these new contracts indicate the municipal wastewater industry’s growing acceptance of advanced biofiltration technology. “Increasingly, both industry and municipal utilities are recognizing the operational efficiencies of biofiltration and its ability to deliver safe, reliable and sustainable odor control at a low cost,” Enegess said.
