Veolia expands line of CeraMem ceramic membrane technology

26 April 2010

The new range of silicon carbide membranes from Veolia complement the existing line of CeraMem ceramic oxide membranes which are employed in microfiltration and ultrafiltration applications

The new silicon carbide membrane range from Veolia tolerates operation across the full pH range, from 0-14. The membranes allow for routine use of aggressive cleaning methods, such as the use of caustic soda. The aqueous stability of the CeraMam silicon carbide membrane provides improved productivity for applications involving oily wastewaters, including deoiling of oilfield produced water, treatment of desalter bottoms, and the treatment of metal working fluids.

The silicon carbide membranes are available in 0.2 m microfiltration and 50 nm ultrafiltration pore sizes in both 2 mm and 5 mm feed channel versions.
