U-Vix Corporation launches new series of TMIP photocatalytic filters

The TMIP series of photocatalytic impregnated titanium mesh filters are designed for incorporation into advanced air and water purification systems

The TMIP series of photocatalytic filters were jointly developed by U-Vix Corporation and the Kanagawa Academy of Science and Technology. The filters are engineered to simultaneously maximise air or water flow and contact with the TiO2 impregnated titanium mesh surface, which is available in either a corrugated or flat structure. TMIP OEM modules which combine impregnated mesh with high performance UV lamps are also available.

Dr Yuko Morito, president of U-Vix Corporation said: “There are many systems on the market touting photocatalytic technology, but after extensive testing we realized that a vast majority of these systems simply do not work as advertised. Therefore we decided to develop a ‘photocatalytic engine’ for use in air and water purification systems that truly perform to the high standards set by Dr Akira Fujishima, original inventor of TiO2 photocatalysis. By working closely together on both the chemistry as well as the mechanical design of the anatase titanium mesh substrate, we successfully developed a titanium mesh filter impregnated with TiO2 that performs extremely well and has been extensively tested.”
