Porvair Filtration develops range of filters for aircraft fuel tank inerting systems

25 February 2010

The Porvair filtration system ensures that the source of engine bleed air delivered to the air separation modules in the inerting system is free from liquid and particle contamination.

US Federal Aviation Administration rules are driving demand for early implementation of fuel tank inerting systems by aircraft manufacturers. The fuel tank inerting systems from Porvair eliminate flammable fuel vapours in commercial aircraft fuel tanks and can be easily fitted within existing aircraft designs. The inerting systems reduce oxygen from its source of engine bleed air, delivering nitrogen enriched air into the aircraft fuel tanks reducing the risk of fuel tank flammability.
