SUPRApak filters lower production costs for brewers

23 September 2009

Pall Corporation has launched SUPRApak filters to minimise beer loss.

All beer requires some form of filtration. SUPRApak is the new alternative to conventional sheet filters and meets breweries’ highest standards for purity and clarity of beer. Conventional filters are open to the air and can potentially expose the product to contamination. SUPRApak filters have fully enclosed housings, eliminating this problem.

Earlier this year a brewery in Europe converted their plate and frame filters to a six-module SUPRApak filter process. When the company compared costs for the old and new equipment, they found they had made savings of more than 50%.

Global leader of Pall Food and Beverage Jonathan Pratt said: “Our relationship with brewers focus on meeting their needs for increased yields, reduced expenses and minimal production downtime. We developed SUPRApak filters to enable breweries to reduce costs, maintain beer quality and meet regulatory requirements.”
