PWN Technologies launches at Singapore International Water Week

24 June 2009

PWN, a Dutch water utility, has launched an international company in order to expand its expertise in pure, clean water provision globally.

The company, while generally unknown outside of The Netherlands, has had many achievements in advancing water treatment practices, including the world's first wide-scale use of membranes for drinking water, the invention of UV hydrogen peroxide treatment, and pioneering work in the economic application of ceramic membranes for water treatment.

PWN have also been working outside of Europe, usually providing emergency water services following major water related catastrophes, such as the 2004 tsunami in the Indian Ocean. This company will enable them to apply their technology worldwide.

Also at Singapore International Water Week, the Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander, Chair of the UN Secretary-General's Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation, held a keynote speech at the Water Leaders' Summit.
