The current managing director, Christian Ingvorsen, will be appointed technical director of DESMI Ocean Guard.
Folsø, most recently acting manager of Maersk Maritime Technology’s innovation department, has also been involved in starting-up DESMI Ocean Guard as a member of the board.
Aalborg, Denmark-based DESMI Ocean Guard was established by AP Moller-Maersk A/S, DESMI A/S and Skjølstrup & Grønborg ApS. The company is developing systems for the removal of living organisms from ships’ ballast water.
Having developed a system for ballast water treatment in accordance with IMO requirements,
DESMI Ocean Guard is now entering a commercial development phase.
