New rainwater harvesting and wastewater reuse systems to be launched

19 May 2009

Bord na Mona Environmental Products have announced plans for the launch of new rainwater harvesting and wastewater reuse systems, in the form of a new compact membrane for residential wastewater and recycling needs.

The products, which are aimed at the residential and commercial markets, will be sold as packaged solutions directly to the developers of green build properties, self-builders and to homeowners wishing to retrofit their residence with rainwater harvest technology.

The wastewater recycling system, known as the PuraMc Compact Membrane system, will produce water of a quality suitable for irrigation and other non-potable reuse in the home. The system uses ultra-filtration membranes to remove solids and pathogens from the wastewater. The small size of the membrane also preents bacteria, ensuring a water quality that meets all relevant standards.
