Koch Membrane MBR modules for Zhangjiagang wastewater plant

20 July 2011

Pacific Water Treatment Engineering Co Ltd has chosen Koch Membrane Systems’ PURON membrane modules for a new city wastewater treatment facility in Zhangjiagang, China.

“After an extensive evaluation of the major membrane systems available on the market, we selected PURON submerged MBR modules because of their energy efficient design, the smallest footprint requirements as well as KMS’ engineering support during the entire project phase,” said George Shen, chairman of the Pacific Water Treatment Engineering board.

Pacific Water Treatment Engineering will design and construct the MBR system.

The system is designed to handle an annual average flow of 25 000 m3/d, with peaks of up to 36 000 m3/d. Start-up is scheduled for early 2012.

The Zhangjiagang project will be the first large-scale municipal MBR reference for Koch Membrane Systems in China.
