Merck Millipore opens new technology centre in Brazil

03 September 2010

Merck Millipore has officially opened its Latin American Technology Center (LATC) in Alphaville, Greater Sao Paulo, Brazil.

The new Merck Millipore centre, which integrates state-of-the-art research labs and training facilities, will meet the growing validation needs of Latin America's pharmaceutical and vaccine laboratories, helping to ensure the safety and efficacy of their filtration processes.

“The LATC will enable our clients to validate their sterilization-by-filtration processes in accordance with government and regulatory standards and requirements, and to optimize their filtration processes,” said Joao Luiz Buitron, regional manager, Latin America, Merck Millipore.

“Previously, customer samples were sent to our biopharmaceutical technology center in the United States, which could be a time-consuming and costly process,” said Roberto Takashi Uchimura, technology manager, Process Solutions, Merck Millipore. “The ease, practicality and agility of a local service will enable us to service an even greater number of clients.”
