This is a few weeks after receiving the ‘GM Supplier of the Year 2012’. Hengst says that Shanghai General Motors recognizes successful partners that are committed to the high standards of the automotive group and realize projects in the areas of sustainability and environmental protection with this award.Hengst was able to sustainably reduce emissions during production, to improve efficiency and to reduce the level of consumption of natural resources like natural gas at its location in Kunshan, China. This prize was awarded to a total of 50 suppliers this year. The project was launched by GM China in 2005 and has been particularly successful. For example, in 2011 the automotive manufacturer and its suppliers in China were able to save 26 million kilowatt hours of energy and more than 205,000 tons of water.
