LiqTech awarded power plant tender in Finland

LiqTech International Inc has won a US$1.1 million tender to supply a turnkey water treatment project for a large power plant in Finland.

The LiqTech installation will include pretreatment, ceramic ultrafiltration systems membranes and a reverse osmosis system.

The water treatment system, which will be delivered this year, will enable the client to reuse a wastewater stream. LiqTech says that by reusing the wastewater, which would have been discharged for municipal treatment due to heavy metal contamination, the client achieves an attractive return on investment.

“This successful tender is a result of the experience gained from our successful power plant installations in Denmark,” said Sune Mathiesen, CEO of LiqTech. “The project marks a significant step forward in terms of installation size and bridges national experience with international break-through. With the energy sector continuing to decide for sustainable biomass fuels, we expect that this milestone Finnish reference will open international markets for similar installations.”
