The United States company has been nominated for the 2015 Global Water Awards' Desalination Company of the Year.
In its nomination, organizer Global Water Intelligence recognized the firm as a major player in the global desalination systems market.
It follows a run of recent achievements for Desalitech including a partnership with Veolia Water Solutions & Technologies to address water recovery solutions in Mexico and globally, $11m secured in new funding from a consortium of investors and recognition as a Key Player in MIT Technology Review's "10 Breakthrough Technologies."
"Water shortage and industrial wastewater disposal are among the world's most challenging problems. We are honored to be recognized for our efforts and successes," said Desalitech CEO Nadav Efraty.
The other nominees for the award are Saline Water Conversion Corporation of Saudi Arabia, Degremont, one of the largest desalination companies in the world and Desalcott, builder and operator of the largest seawater desalination plant in the western hemisphere.
The Global Water Awards will be presented at the Global Water Summit on April 27 in Athens, Greece.
