Long-life water quality sensor

In-Situ Inc has developed the Aqua TROLL 200, a multi-parameter water quality sensor designed for long periods of unattended monitoring. The Aqua TROLL 200 is suitable for use in harsh environments for applications such as borehole monitoring or detecting salt water contamination in aquifers and waste water systems.

The Aqua TROLL 200 accurately measures pressure, temperature and conductivity and derived parameters (level, total dissolved solids, salinity) and can output results to a variety of data retrieval options - telemetry, laptop or PDA. The active components and lithium battery pack are welded inside a slim (18.7 mm diameter) corrosion resistant, titanium sensor body that can pass freely down a 25 mm bore pipe. The lithium battery has a guaranteed life of 5 years or 200,000 sensor readings after which the sensor head can be refurbished and re-sealed with a new battery.
