Ultrafilter removes endocrine disrupters
Millipore has added the EDS-Pak activated charcoal ultrafilter to its POU final filter range.
The new filter has been designed to adsorb small organic molecules and dispense up to 300 total litres of ultrapure water free of endocrine disrupters, the small organic molecules that impact hormonal functioning in both humans and animals. The cartridge connects to the Milli-Q Advantage system's Q-POD unit as a final purification step, either alone or in combination with a Millipak 0,22 µm filter.
It has been validated in Millipore laboratories to warrant the production of ultrapure water free of bisphenol A (<5 ppt), diethyl phthalate (<0,5 ppb) and di-n-butyl phthalate (<0,5 ppb). Trace concentrations of endocrine disrupters can thus be obtained, allowing organic levels in environmental analyses to be reliably measured.
