Safematic range extended
John Crane has extended its Safematic range of seal water control systems with the launch of SafeJet - an automatic mechanical seal water filter that provides highly effective filtration by removing all solid contaminant particles larger than 50 um.
The SafeJet unit features a special technology that uses several laminar filter elements to create a reliable and self-cleaning micro filter process. The flow direction during filtering is from inside to the exterior, with the impurities filtered out on the inner surface of the filter elements. The pressure loss during normal operation is just 0.1 bar. There are no moving or wearing parts which ensures long life, cost-effective operation and maximum reliability, John Crane says. Construction materials to AISI 304 are provided as standard, with AISI 316 stainless steel as an option.
The flush cycle automatically removes impurities to drain and is activated by opening the SafeJet 's integral flush valves. This flush sequence, which requires only a very small volume of water compared to the output, can be controlled by the adjustable timer unit that is supplied as standard, or by an optional pressure difference control. The SafeJet requires minimal installation space and can be installed directly onto the pipeline without the need for additional brackets.
