Bid to improve CBM water treatment
Water purification and chemical recovery systems manufacturer Eco-Tec and coal bed methane PureTech plan to work together to align to produce a water treatment system for coal bed methane producers.
Coal Bed Methane (CBM) is an industry that will provide a vast resource for natural gas, the companies say. One issue surrounding CBM, however is the environmental impact of the water produced through CBM well processes. The produced water currently contains high levels of sodium that can be potentially dangerous to the well's surrounding environment.
To address this issue, Eco-Tec will use its newest system, the RecoPur® CBM Water Treatment System, to recover the sodium-filled water and purify it to acceptable levels while converting the waste into marketable byproducts. PureTech plans to offer its CBM industry experience along with local engineering and aquatic biology expertise.
