Environmental condensate separator
saves cost
UK-based Condensate Systems Ltd has developed Sepura, a new condensate separator which makes it easier for compressor users to follow environmental compliance.
Compressed air condensate separators are large, messy items that are expensive to own and maintain, the company says. For many companies the cost alone is enough to deter them from using a separator, despite the heavy legal penalties for expelling untreated oily condensate to drain, or ground.
Condensate Systems has solved this problem by developing a compact condensate separator at low cost which performs to within 0.1% of total lubricant separation.
The separator includes simple, non-mechanical parts which, with the exception of filter changes, eliminate maintenance. Unlike a weir-type separator, the design does not rely on the oil coming out of suspension and does not require a settling tank, which can propagate harmful bacteria.
